The objective of this initiative is to drive regional integration by recognizing and exploring the uniqueness of each of Africa’s countries, while driving cross-continental collaboration between leaders across sectors.

A Journey Across The African Continent Through a Culinary Experience

In recognition of the diversity of each of Africa’s 54 countries, the objective of the 54 Flavors of African CultureTM initiative is to facilitate cross-cultural exchange amongst nations and individuals. The series recognizes the uniqueness of each of Africa’s 54 countries and explores the work and passion of Africans leading in the culinary and visual arts, fashion, sports,music and tourism sectors.

The first of its series launched 2021 focused on our Culinary Arts pillar under the theme A Journey Across the African Continent Through a Cultural Experience. It was a interchange between Chef Wandile Mabaso from South Africa and Chef Fatmata Binta from Sierra Leon (based in Ghana).

The chefs serenaded guests with flavourful and colourful meals using ingredients as wide-ranging as West African fonio, Mozambican seafood and Ghanaian chocolate.
